craft development board and craft promotion centre. It is
estimated that 30- 40 businesses could benefit directly

indirectly from the improved performance of these businesses.
- A further 20 businesses in Hai Duong
involved in related tourist activities – travel, accommodation,
restaurants, cafes etc. would benefit indirectly from the
increased tourist traffic to the town which the project
is ultimately expected to generate.
- an estimated 20+ new jobs will be created
by the project
- Finally an estimated 20 Vietnamese
businesses in Hackney and 2 – 3 in Limerick/Shannon
could eventually benefit indirectly from the business to
business links which the project ultimately hopes to encourage
between the EU and Vietnam, and the increased interest which
the Asia Urbs project is expected to generate in Hackney
and Shannon for Vietnamese culture, artefacts and cuisine.
